Biography

Maysa Abrahão Tavares Verzola is a distinguished partner at the firm, with over 20 years of experience in strategic litigation and both domestic and international arbitration. She has particular expertise in post-M&A disputes and arbitrations involving public entities. In addition to leading the Arbitration practice, Mrs. Verzola heads the firm’s Public Law practice, where she advises national and international clients on complex issues in Administrative Law across diverse sectors, including investment funds, state-owned companies, public service concessionaires, financial institutions, and other industries.

Mrs. Verzola’s Public Law practice spans consultancy on public bids, administrative sanctioning procedures before regulatory agencies, and advising on economic-financial rebalancing requests in administrative contracts. Her expertise also includes advising on corporate reorganizations and M&A transactions involving public service concessionaires, state-owned companies, and infrastructure firms.

Prior to joining Gasparini, Barbosa e Freire Advogados, she was a partner at Campos Mello Advogados (in cooperation with DLA Piper), served as a foreign associate at Crowell & Moring in Washington, D.C., and acted as the Compliance Officer for the Brazilian subsidiary of the Swedish company Intrum AG.

She is currently a Board Member of ABHAV – the Brazilian Association of Green Hydrogen and Ammonia.
